Triffids, by Santa Cruz, California Pop Artist Jim Phillips (new)

ArtByrne is pleased to announce the official release of the newest artprint by legendary Santa Cruz, California-based artist Jim Phillips, Triffids. The unusual title is a nod to British writer John Wyndham's. Novel "Day of the Triffids, " set in a post-apocalyptic England in a world dominated by flesh eating plants. Triffids is a homage to Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dali, a considerable influence on Jim's artwork. Triffids is the newest, and likely the last, print run to be officially released by Jim.

Triffids was created for the upcoming documentary film about Jim's life and career called "Art and Life: The Story of Jim Phillips" by San Diergo-based filmmaker John Makens. The film is slated for official release later in 2025. Creating and painting Triffids features prominently in the movie.
